Youth Mayor Making – Hamra Hanif-Ali
Instead of a meeting, we had a Youth Mayor Making ceremony, for Hamra Hanif-Ali, the 13th Youth Mayor for Oldham. This occured in the Council Chambers at full capacity, with the following people in attendance:
- Hamra Hanif-Ali (Youth Mayor for the 2022/23 municipal year)
- Charlotte Clasby (ChairThe Youth Councillor who runs the meeting, heads up the organisation and has the casting vote. Or something to sit on but probably the first one on our site :-) More of OYC
Oldham Youth Council More) - Cllr Jenny Harrison (Mayor in the previous municipal year)
- Elaine Garry
- Three Youth Councillors putting forward their nominations for Hamra to become Youth Mayor for the municipal year.
- All other youth councillors, who unanimously voted for Hamra to be the Youth Mayor for the 2022/23 municipal year
- Friends & family of Hamra
Following the ceremony, there was a light food & refreshment service.
