OYC Meeting Minutes – 09/06/21
WELCOME
The ChairThe Youth Councillor who runs the meeting, heads up the organisation and has the casting vote. Or something to sit on but probably the first one on our site :-) More welcomed Youth Councillors who attended the meeting in person (following all required and necessary Covid-19 regulations and safety measures) and those attending online.
ROUGH AND TUMBLE
The Emily O’Shea Company came into this meeting to discuss old playground games Youth Councillors played as kids. Rough and Tumble is a project aiming at reviving old playground games, getting young people more aware of the fun they are able to have outside. The project will be a devised performance that will be toured, and discussions were also held about how to engage young people in interactive theatre.
YOUTH SUMMIT
The Youth Service is holding another Youth Summit for the Young People of Oldham. Covering Climate Change, Mental Health Services and Knife Crime. Youth Councillors were asked if they would like to volunteer to help out with events happening within the next two weeks, and were asked for any ideas that should also be included in any of the sessions.
