Last night , The Mayor of Oldham and I were at the Oldham Sports Awards. The awards recognise the hours of dedication that volunteers, sport achievers and parents dedicate to sport and physical activity within Oldham. It was an amazing night and a huge congratulations  to all the #worthy winners. We were sat with Debbie Abrahams MP and Dorothy who is an silver medalist from the 1960 Olympic Games. So interesting to have a chat with her! Also had a quick chat & catchup with Chadderton Park Sports Club. as well as Oldham RLFC ahead of the play offs on Sunday. Congrats  to oldhamnetball club who won Sports Club of the year 2019. As you may know my charity for this year is Real Change Oldham . Homelessness is such a massive problem that we can all do something about. This month I’ve been working towards the launch of the ‘ Youth Mayors Slush’ with Ice Pan Oldham. If you’re free on the 10th October, come down to the official launch and get some dessert for charity!

This month also saw a young person from Oldham , Lillia raising her voice for #climatechange at the Fridays for future strikes. I wish I was that confident at 10!

The thing I’ll remember from this month is the final Oldham Rugby League game where Oldham won and is now being promoted!!

It’s been another busy month with lots of engagements and I’m lucky to meet so many amazing people!
