Meet the Youth Councillors – Nathan Randles
Hi, I’m Nathan, the health officer on Oldham Youth Council. I started in a separate group called Barrier Breaker’s, a youth group for people with additional needs. I was later co-opted onto the youth Council, and once the officer posts became available I delivered a speech and was elected by my fellow youth councillor’s to the position of Health Officer, when I was sixteen I was elected to position of project manager of the Manchester Youth Board, from which we held and developed a mental health awareness day, it was a huge success however I was left with nothing to do once it came to an end, I saw the Youth Council as the perfect opportunity to further my skills and knowledge, as health Lead I liaise with young people, member of the NHS and attend meeting with the CCG when the opportunity arrises.
