OYC Meeting Minutes – 21/08/19
WELCOME
Apologies – Isabelle A., Ellie W.
OFFICER ELECTIONS
Officer Elections have come around again, with all officer posts being carried over. The Officer roles that were elected in were Communications Officer (unanimously elected – Liam H.) and Campaigns Officers (unanimously elected – Hfsa F. and Charlotte C.) These officer roles were unanimously elected in within the meeting due to them not being contested.
The Well-Being and Events Officer had no candidates for the role, so a proposal passed to delay the election of these roles until after the summer break period, where they can be advertised again.
WEBSITE CONTENT
Liam brought to discussion website content, to try to create more diverse content, rather than the website being full of meeting minutes. Following on from ideas from the Un-Meeting, there is going to be a push to Youth Councillors to create more diverse content/blogs for the website, to show the amazing work the Youth Council is doing!
POINTS OF DISCUSSION
Jodie brought to the meeting points of discussion from various events that are up and coming, such as sitting on an Interview Panel for Oldham Council’s Director of Children’s Services and a Cohesion Conference Workshop!
SUPER RESI
This was a reminder to Youth Councillors to bring in their consent forms for the annual Oldham Youth Voice Super Resi!
LTTE POLAND APPLICATIONS
The Listen To The Earth trip for 2020 has had the application deadline extended by one week for members of the Youth Voice Family. This is an amazing trip that focuses on the effects of the HolocaustThe Holocaust was the mass murder of six million Jews and millions of other people leading up to, and during, World War II. The killings took place in Europe between 1933 and 1945. They were organised by the German Nazi party which was led by Adolf Hitler.. Information about the LTTE project and previous runnings of the project can be found here – LTTE
