Mental Health Support

Over the last decade, Mental Health has been one of the most important issues for young people in Oldham in the Make Your Mark ballot.

We have made a list of some services available to young people that would help. If you’re struggling with your mental health, or have a friend/family member who is struggling, please don’t sit in silence – anyone of these services could help. Click on the organisations name to visit their site.

Kooth is an online counselling service which a free safe, confidential and anonymous way to ask for help. Ages 11-25 https://www.kooth.com

TOGMind offer a drop in service for 8-18 year olds who would like to speak to someone confidentially and in a safe space, called Take 5. Oldham CAMHS (child and adolescent mental health service) offer specialist services to children and young people who are experiencing mental health and emotional wellbeing difficulties. For more info go to https://www.penninecare.nhs.uk/oldhamcamhs

PAPYRUS have resources available on their website including coping strategies , conversation starters , apps to support wellbeing and more. They also have different ways to contcat them if you are feeling suicidal. https://www.papyrus-uk.org/

Refuge – Refuge offers specialist support to young people who may be experiencing a variety of forms abuse such as: domestic violence; rape and sexual abuse; forced marriage; so-called ‘honour’-based violence; human trafficking and modern slavery; prostitution; and female genital mutilation (FGM).
