OYC Meeting Minutes – 04/10/2023
MOTION TO FULL COUNCILOYC have constitutional rights to ask Council to make changes in Oldham. They do this formally by attending a full council meeting and putting a motion to full council. More (CHRIS)
Using the NAOMIE structure for planning (Needs, Aims, Objectives, Method, Implementation and Evaluation), we split into 3 groups to write a motion on the cost of living. One group focused on free school meals, another on affordable places for young people to go, and the third group looked at free school stationary, potentially by asking Oldham Council and partner organisations to donate their unused calculators / merchandise / stationary, for school students to use.
The first half of the meeting composed of planning whilst the second half involved writing a draft.
The drafts will be presented at the next priorities meeting, where the most optimal subtopic will be picked and made ready for the final motion.
