From Anti-Bullying Week 2014, Oldham Youth Council launched a film competition around cyber bullying.
Girl in the Mirror was a film produced by Oldham Youth Council to challenge the bystander of bullying. The person who witnesses it happen and does nothing about it or even laughs along so as not to be bullied themselves. The original idea for the film was produced by softball10km but not relevant to a British audience.
Our challenge to young people was to produce films with the following guidelines:
- All entries must be based around cyber bullying.
- Films submitted to the competition must have no audio dialogue.
- Submissions must be no longer than 2 minutes.
- Animated shorts will be accepted.
All the films submitted were to be used by the Local Safeguarding Children’s Board E-Safety Sub Group for their training calendar.
We would like to thank all of the young people who took part. All of the films that we received were amazing.
Since the competition we have produced a follow up film call Girl in the Webcam.
