Introductions
Interview questions –
Young people discussed about the upcoming interviews they will do for a post part of the Virtual School they came up with the questions;
- What experience have you had with looked after children and children with additional needs
- How would you engage children who are resistant to education
- Have you had a situation where you have had to diffuse a challenging situation with young people and how did you deal with it
- Have you done any multi- agency work
Merlin Joseph came in to introduce herself as the Interim director of children’s services.
Young people spoke to Merlin and discussed the good and bad experience of social care. Young people told Merlin how they are looking to revamp the pledge and other things that are in the pipeline.
Sarita Dewan – Healthy Young Minds Oldham came in to consult with young people and raise awareness of what they currently offer for Looked after young people. They wanted to look at doing some info sheets with the help of the young people. Young people discussed if they could access social services till 25 then why they could not access Healthy Young Minds till 25. Young people discussed being part of the foster carers training and they could help with the delivery of this training. Young people discussed the welcome pack and having the HYM info inside the pack.
