During the summer period, the Children in Care Council organised a 3 day activity programme as part of a recruitment opportunity for younger people in care. 11 young people aged between 9 to 11 years took part in a series of creative workshops exploring confidence and self-esteem, the importance of memory book making and creative consultation.
During the consultation young people explored the qualities and skills needed to be a foster carer in Oldham. Using art and animation young people created a series of short clips around ‘What makes a good Foster Carer’. These short clips and young people’s views will form part of the recruitment and pre-fostering training for our newly appointed Foster Carers.
The young people loved taking part in the activities and making new friends.
