The second Total Respect training took place from 9:30am till 3:00pm, this is training that is co-delivered by young people all around the voice of the child.
It also helps to give a thorough understanding of children’s rights, including the right to participation, and relevance to the delivery of child centred services. It explores the assumptions about children and young people, listening to young people, and the experience of being a child in care. It informs the participants about involving young people within planning and how the involvement of young people in policy development is important and is being an effective advocate for children that are Looked after.
Young people delivered several different exercises all around being child focused and being able to understand from a child’s perspective of what goes on in their lives. The participants were an fantastic group and the training went really well.
we are really proud of our young people who co-delivered this training with the staff and would like to thank the participants for taking part and for our young people for doing so well in delivering this, but also for sharing their own stories and experiences.
Thank you all.
