Meet the Youth Councillors – Shariq Ali Ashraf
A long time ago (that being 2014) in a galaxy far, far away (Chadderton) 14 year old me joined the youth council, for over 2 of those years I didn’t really have the confidence to speak up in meetings, but then something clicked into place somewhere and I learnt to just be myself, which unbeknownst to me people actually liked. 2016 onwards has been busy thanks to me being a complete yes man to every opportunity I’m given. So now I’m at the civic at least 3 times per week, (it’s basically my second home) I’ve been on many amazing residentials and made friends that will last me a lifetime.
