OYC Meeting Minutes – 11/10/17
WELCOME

Amber started off the meeting with the ‘Guess the Councillor’ game.
LSCB – PRIORITIES STEERING GROUP
Chris talked to the Youth Council about Members if the Youth Council having meeting with the LSCB, forming a task force.
MYM RESULTS – WHAT NOW?
Chris gave the YC the provisional results. This year, all the schools in Oldham have taken part in the Make Your Mark
A Nationwide campaign, run by UK Youth parliament, that gathers information on what is important to the youth of the United Kingdom. More scheme. Provisional numbers that stand from this meeting are 17,130. The youth councillor with the highest vote count was Alex R. – 3440 Votes. Oldham had a 71.7% turnout (Based on the 2011 sensor). The top 3 issues in Oldham were; Mental Health-2134 Votes, A Curriculum to to prepare us for life-2313 Votes, Work Experience hubs for 11-18 year olds-2636 Votes. The YC then split into groups to discuss what to do with the results from the LALocal Authority (Council) More MYMMake Your Mark – A Nationwide campaign that gathers information on what is important to the youth of the United Kingdom. The ten issues are decided by members of the UK Youth Parliament. More results.

Chris mentioned about the thunderclapAn online software that uses social media profiles to send out a blast message. Users can sign up to be apart of a thunderclap with their Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr profiles. More that has been set up for the PMBPrivate Members Bill More #NO9, urging youth councillors to sign up and share.

Katie gave feedback to the Youth Council on different OYC
Oldham Youth Council More merch ideas. Then she asked the Youth Council to give their ideas on merch that could be made to give out.
EVENTS/TRIPS
The dates for events and trips were given out to youth councillors.
